The works of The Pixel Cake span two primary bodies: the Music Icon Art Series — original digital artworks paying homage to legendary musicians — and Atmospheric Photography — conceptual and landscape imagery that transforms the familiar into the extraordinary.
Music Icon Art Series
The Music Icon series began with a simple question: what does it mean to photograph a myth? The musicians who appear in this series — Bowie, Hendrix, Prince, Madonna — are not just famous people. They are ideas. Archetypes. Forces of transformation that changed the cultural landscape and left permanent marks on the way we understand identity, creativity, and art.
Each piece in the series is an original work created through a labor-intensive process of photography, digital painting, and post-production. The results are images that feel simultaneously documentary and fantastical — portraits of people who were themselves walking works of art.
Atmospheric Photography Collection
The atmospheric series explores the emotional potential of landscapes, figures, and architectural spaces. These are images of real places and subjects, transformed through careful craftsmanship into something that exists between documentation and dream.
Archival-quality materials and pigment-based inks ensure a lifespan of over 100 years under normal display conditions — a standard upheld by institutions like the Library of Congress digital preservation program.
Portrait Series
The studio also maintains an ongoing portrait practice, working with subjects to create images that reveal rather than simply record. The Portraits and Gallery collections represent this strand of the work.
Prints and Acquisition
All works are available as limited-edition fine art prints. Print sizes range from intimate editions to large-format gallery installations. To inquire about pricing, availability, or custom print dimensions, please contact the studio.
